I think there was a Stephen King short story about a blob of black goop that lived in a lake and ate whoever/whatever it could get its slimy pseudopods on.

well I forget the exact name, but basically everyone that has been in that movie is becoming a governor or some high rank in the government! We can extend this effect to Predator 2 as well!
