actually cartoons look awesome, I have some of the classic disney stuff for my kid on BluRay and the clarity is amazing. Beyond that, if you own a BluRay player, why would you get the DVD? The interface and different options of interactivity on BluRay is in a different league than DVD. And BluRays are more resistant to scratching.
