After MIR

I have basically this exact same one. Not the fastest, but definitely a cheap way to get into an SSD.

/edit - they are out of stock when I last checked.

I actually just bought a 120g intel SSD drive. The only ones they sell in town. I have been having troubles with the data migration. I have tried 1000 things and it still says bootmgr missing ctrl, atl, delete to restart.

I see all of the data on the SSD drive when I boot from the old HDD.
I tried system recovery with windows 7 disk. fail.
I have tried unplugging my other hdd, fail.
I have applied my SSD to be first boot.
all resulting with the above message.

I found one more idea to try before erasing the SSD drive.
I need to go into the storage manage of it and activate the hidden reserve partition.

Yup, tried the command prompt for bootrec. Thanks Snow.

I checked it out in device manager that the SSD did not have boot on it. At this time, I left my computer defraging the origional hdd, and im going to reback it up. And the SSD is on format mode.

I am going to retry the data migration from scratch to see if it actually copies the bootmgr over.

Thanks Strife, I did check that site out some.

In all I think it was just a back copy over.

Tigerdirect is now selling the same one for $60. Still not a bad price.

I figured my problem out. I did all of the installations with the other HDD still connected to the computer. It did take a new install though to figure it out. no worries though Its good to have a clean install sometimes.

So when I installed windows it still had the missing BOOTMGR... toms hardware had the answer. unplug the existing HDD's and repair windows startup. Worked like a charm.

if you werent buying a bargain basement brand, it would have come with cloning software to duplicate your old drive onto new, without having to do reinstalls. Then you can just format old drive after everything runs right.

I bought an Intel, as it was the only available in stores in my location. I was having the BOOTMGR missing ctrl+alt+delete to restart error. When I tried the clone process. and I couldn't find a solution anywhere. Then I did the fresh install, same error. I did a different google search and found the resolution. unplugging the other drives and repairing windows startup.
So I fixed it with the new install, I didn't want to go through the hassle of cloning again so I just installed things and actually have more space on my SSD that I would have with the clone. It got rid of some garbage programs that I never used.

Yea, because that software is so hard to find for free.
