Applicants Should Read This
#1
First and foremost, expect a minimum 24-hour turnaround time for admittance. A week+ if we don't know you.

You'll know your app has been accepted when you can access the members forums.

If your app is rejected, I will let you know.

If you hear nothing for a long time, it probably means nobody knows you well enough to vouch for you or well enough to outright deny your application. You'll need to find us in-game and group with us and let your intentions be known.

On with the show:
What we expect from you
* Independent minded player
* Enjoys PvP and/or the economy
* Tolerates PvE to the extent that it aids them in PvP and/or the economy
* Willing to get on Teamspeak and at least listen in
* Can type in forum posts without using any leet-dude-speak. Understands that "2" is not a substitute for "to" or "too" and there is no word in the dictionary spelled "ur".

Also be aware of the tone of our guild chat, especially in Teamspeak.

The Purge is not a high school locker room or an Alaskan fishing boat. We're not asking for Catholic standards that would make the Pope proud but you do need to be aware that our average age is around 35 and some people even play the game with their kids. If your favorite thing to say is "fuckshitdickpickle" be aware that we may find that funny once. ONCE. (Unless the previous applicant also said it, and then we're already tired of it and now we hate you.)

Guild chat and especially vent should aim more for a "neighborhood barbecue" setting.

Also, we are old and cranky and don't like it when your push-to-talk key is down more than it is up. We don't need to hear about every facet of your life or every bodily function.

What you should expect from us
* We don't invite people quickly. If you need an outfit today, tomorrow or this week, we might not be it.
* We are casual gamers. Nobody here is pulling 12 hour days for 7 days a week in game. If that's what you're into, you're probably better off with some other guild.
* We want to level up and PvP.
* We want to win the strategic wars not just the small fights. Sometimes this means guarding something rather than running off to the next action hotspot.
* We are not huge assholes but we do intend to win.

The Purge is a guild that stretches across multiple games. One application fits all.
Ideally, you should be interested in trying us out as a long term group to play games with and not just something for one particular game. Our goal is to be consistent from game to game in terms of guild style and policies. All of our guild officers are long term Purge members who aim to keep the same plan from game to game. When you're a member, you're invited to join us across all games.

Recruitment
If you want to apply to The Purge, post in this forum section.

If we like your application, we will add you to the in-game MOTD and hopefully people looking for groups will send you tells. Bear in mind that the weight of finding groups is going to be largely on you.

Being verbose in your application is a step in the right direction.

Saying, "I read that whole post you said applicants should read" is also a step in the right direction.

Footnote:

If you have a sponsor, remind them to "create an Internal Affairs thread" for your application. Technically they should know to do this but they probably read this 6 months ago and forgot about the process whereas you are reading it now and can remind them!

I kind of envision these two as Vllad and Dophuz.
