Data recovery program

Wae or Dilz or any other IT's out there, do you have a data recovery program you would recommend?

I've used Data Rescue 2 for Mac. Which gave me the option of what kind of files I want to retrieve (images, documents...and specify the .extension). It would find every version of a file you ever saved but the downside was they were all unnamed. So if you wanted to find a document you had to open all them up, or view pictures in thumbnail view.

The PC version of this was not very similar.

What happened?

Accidental Format?
Hardware failure?
Accidental Deletion?

If it is a bootable drive, does the drive boot at all, does it give any sort of error message?

Is it some files are the drive in general that is fucked up?

Does it make any noises? Clicking? Ect?

Can you do a surface scan? What does it say? (Don't start marking sectors as bad just yet if you can avoid it)

the drive is fine. it was 'quick' formated, so the file table is gone. Need to retrieve files that havent been overriden.

Would also like to use any software I get for retrieving deleted files.

I don't have a go-to program for this, but I did some searching and found a couple utilities that look like they'll do it for you. I haven't tested any of these myself, but they all claim they can restore files from a quick-formatted drive. (hopefully they're not trojans :twisted: )

In that case, I have used both of these programs with success.
