Purge Application Policy: Want to Join? Start here.
#1
The Purge is not actively recruiting, but we will not turn away good people when they come to us.

We are “by invitation only” so someone currently in guild must invite you. Think of your application post as an introduction to the rest of us. Posting here will not get you an immediate invite. Posting here will get you started on grouping with Purge members, who may or may not decide to vouch for you and invite you into the guild.

Look at our roster to find the names of current members in your level range. Roster

Steps to follow to join The Purge:
  1. Make your introduction post. Tell us a little bit about yourself. Remember, this will be your first impression on a lot of us, so make it good!
  2. Use the roster above and group up with some current members. Remember, posting here does not get you an immediate invite. A current member must vouch for you. The onus is on you to get to know us... put in the effort and make us want to invite you.
  3. If all goes well, the friends you have made in the guild will invite you. If you are under 50, you’re in with no problem. If you are over 50, we give our current members 24 hours to post any objections. This is to avoid attracting any ‘loot whores’ that think they will get some gear real easy. This is not how we work. The Purge > Individual. Period.

Some background on the Purge.

We are a group of players that over the past few years have met up in past games, many of us first meeting in the early days of Everquest on the Vallon Zek server. As it turns out, we have all teamed up together in WoW to kick some Alliance butt. There is a very friendly atmosphere within the guild and we dislike all forms of drama. We will do whatever we can to keep it that way.

Most likely, you have either seen the threads on the Crushridge forums or heard stuff in General chat and have an idea of what we are about already, or you wouldn’t be applying. We are at war with the Alliance. PvP is the reason we play this game. As long as Blizzard deems it legal within the game, we will do whatever it takes to win. If you aren’t ready to be a target, ganked repeatedly, corpse camped, etc… you may want to think twice about joining because having <The Purge> over your head will most likely bring just that. If you want to place nice with the Alliance, you may want to think twice about applying.

We do our share of PvE’ing but it will never be our main focus. If you are looking for a guild that does multiple instance runs with MC and Onyxia in your back pocket, keep looking because Purge isn’t it.

There you go. If we feel you would be a good addition to the group, I’m sure you will find out pretty quickly. Remember, it’s up to you to make the effort.

Good luck.

Since this forum has been receiving more attention lately, I'm going to make an effort to keep it somewhat clean.

Once an application has been approved or declined, a Private Message will be sent to the applicant on this board, and they will be told in-game of the outcome. The application thread will be locked for a week or two, after which it will be deleted.

Ammendment:

/join PurgeApplicants

This will basically be an open channel for the public to tune into so they can look for Purge groups to join. I'll be encouraging existing members to join this channel and use it when trying to fill up groups.

New applicants can use it as a way to hopefully make it a little easier to find groups to join without having to send out tells.

Further ammendments:

You don't necessarily have to post in this forum to apply to the Purge. Other methods include a private forum message, in-game mail or in-game private chat. Although posting in this forum is still the best way for complete strangers to get visibility, all you REALLY need is someone to sponsor you on our internal forums.
