Geektastic movies for 2013

I loved the first two Superman movies, although I'm sure being a kid at the time was a factor. I watched Superman 2 again with my two older girls recently, and it was definitely more cheesy than I remembered. But still, for the time they were really good. Superman 3 was bad, though, and Superman 4 was a train wreck (hmm, same pattern as the first 4 Batman movies, now that I think about it...)

When you think about, most comic book/sci-fi franchises seem to follow the same pattern. First movie good, second movie great, third movie meh, four movie dire. Superman, first set of Batman movies, Alien, Spiderman (except there was no 4th), X-Men (counting Wolverine as the 4th), Star Wars (counting Phantom Menace as the 4th)...it's almost like a curse...
