The reason I'm looking into them is because of the rape and pedophilia charges currently being levied against director Bryan Singer. The guy who's accusing Singer also sued Collins-Rector and Pierce back in 2000. At this time, Collins-Rector and Pierce were hiding out in Marbella, Spain, founding IGE.

Here's what I know so far: Collins-Rector was living with Brock Pierce and another man named Chad Shackley in Spain (after fleeing the U.S. and federal pedophilia charges) when they all started to play Everquest. They joined Alan Debonneville's guild 12 Prophets at some point during 2000. According to what I've seen, Debonneville moved down to Spain to found IGE with them after they all met while playing EQ. I have found sworn statements confirming that Collins-Rector was heavily involved in IGE, although his name was carefully kept off the company's records.

I know that Brock Pierce = Athrex and Alan Debonneville = Alann (super creative). I'm trying to figure out who Marc Collins-Rector played as.

Collins-Rector was last seen in London in 2007. He has zero internet presence, so I'm hoping to get some possible usernames and internet history through his gaming accounts.

Thank you in advance for any information, anecdotes, and anything you can remember about 12 Prophets and these players. If you'd rather email, you can ping me at ellie.hall@buzzfeed.com.

For the record...
12 Prophets were born in lower guk at a meeting where the gargolyes spawn. The idea was we could do all content with just 12 people. 2 groups. It was Alann, Taag, Nanak, Stogey, Warhound, Blizzy., pyloia.. I'm not even sure we had 12... I know we added Caud/Kaltare mages soon after..Aaqaz the enchanter soon after. anyway.. it wasn't that big of a deal to us. it was an agreement to move forward regaurdless of race. Because we had nobody else to play with. We were all playing 24/7. And nobody kept up. We had many battles with limit break which we thought was a japanese guild. It was 50/50 but those guys were good. Sometimes we won and sometimes we lost. We respected them because they didn't pull their gear. We didn't get many kills but it happened. They got banned or moved on. Which left the rest of you dorks.

And ya'll just invented the rest of the story.

Your name didn't come up much in this thread because you were never much of a player as far as the rest of us were concerned. I doubt you really knew what the rest of the 12P did in their free time, because you were never there when the rest of us had to deal with them.

I doubt 12P would stand out today, though, even if they were all in their prime. They represent a type of gamer that has become typical. Back in EQ days, online PC gaming was kind of a specialist hobby, overwhelmingly played by people who enjoyed it for the fun of gaming. That's something I don't think 12P ever did. They were the "in it to win it" types, and exploiting bugs and using 3rd party tools was just part of how they gamed -- as if it was a job (and apparently, for some of them, it became one). Unfortunately, that has become far more common these days, and any game made that doesn't aggressively program against it is doomed to fail, as, ultimately, were the EQ PvP servers.

The fact that you came here to give kudo's to Limit Break and Alann says pretty much all you need to know about members of 12P including yourself.

With all the linked materials in this thread about what horrible human beings you gamed with and you still come here to say we just invented it?

In the end we won and you lost you little worm. I still enjoy a cigar from time to time reliving Alann raising the white flag and agreeing to leave the server.

Man imagine being a late 40/50 something and making a post like that about something that happened 25 years ago and still showing the same immaturity. Hysterical stuff. He even said "dorks." Talk about being stuck in the past.
