Season 1 is over and it was awesome. Do you like blood, violence, and hot naked chicks? Then you'll love Spartacus: Blood and Sand. It premiered on Starz (wtf?lawl). You can however download it via the internetz. It also have some of the best cursing I've heard in a show yet. It has lines such as "By Jupiter's cock!"
It also has naked Lucy Lawless!
It is by far the most awesome show I have seen in a very long time.
A-LA-BA-MA MAN!
HE'S QUICK, HE'S STRONG, HE'S ACTIVE!
You can take Alabama Man to the bowling alley, where he drinks heavily and chews tobacco!
HE CAN BOWL, HE CAN DRINK, HE CAN DRINK SOME MORE, ALA-BA-MA-MAN!
When wife asks him where he's been, just use the action button and Alabama Man busts her lip open!
"Shut up, Bitch!"
"Wow!"
BEATS HIS WIFE AND SLEEPS IT OFF, A-LA-BA-MA MAN!

I've heard nothing but good things about this show, and now due to this thread, I will be downloading the season tonight. How many episodes were there in season 1? 12?

I started watching it and am starting to like it after the 3rd episode. I would categorize it as 30% soft porn, 30% mindless Blood and gore, and 40% drama. Its not like HBO Rome, though it might turn into that.
In a way its kinda like Deadwood in that it tries to shock with language and the brutality that is pictured as normal for the time, but shocking to us. (It isnt as good as deadwood, just saying).
So Ill keep watching the season.

It is NOT as good as Dexter, Rome, or Deadwood. However it is one of the better shows on now. Even though im a WWII history buff i like it better than the Pacific.....

So far The Pacific doesn't seem to be as well done as Band of Brothers was. I can't place my finger on exactly why -- I'll still watch each episode but I don't find myself waiting for the next one like I did with Band of Brothers.

I think part of it is that the groups smaller that we are following, which leads to the fact that the numbers of those old coots are dropping. There is less of attachment with them.
Spartacus is awesome though.

I watched the first pacific and the effects looked very bad/bluescreeny - it might have been the TV (was at a friends house)... but it didn't click like Band of Brothers.
Treme is pretty good, but no surprise considering it came from the creator of the greatest show ever.

So Spartacus is worth the watch. The story and acting get better with each show. I recommend.
