Every once in a while it's fun to dream.
Well in a few years we'll probably all have one.

I wonder if LCD monitor design really requires these edges around the screen or if that's something they could start eliminating.

The display panel itself has no "edge" or at least a very thin strip of metal. The stuff on the monitor is just plastic molding for cosmetic reasons -- presumably there is a bit of damage protection provided by having a little buffer between the actual display itself too.
heh. Last night I went from a 17" 4:3 to a 24" 1080P 16:9...I almost openly wept and cant fathom what they hell I was thinking before I had it. This...is just too much. I dont have a desk big enough for 2 monitors, let alone 3.

got this on Black Friday for $150.

Rats I should have looked for that deal myself. I've been in the market for a 23" for a long time now and have been waiting for it to get under $200
Acer sucks
Yeah I'm waiting for ViewSonic really. I had a Viewsonic CRT for 10 years and never had any issues.
Dell all the way when it comes to monitors. I have a 24" ws hd Dell and love it. Bought it back for EQ2 and am sure as heck glad I did. I can't imagine playing on anything smaller now. Also, if I sit really close, I have to look around the screen by moving my head, pretty neat when traveling through space in Eve.

I would love this setup that they showed, and I'd build a shoddy desk to support it all too, haha. It looks great. It's just a matter of waiting for games to support it first, before setting it up and not being able to use it. Sure they showed off a couple, but I need more than just those three to support it before I even consider it.
A company is allowed to suck if they sell me a 23" flat screen HDMI 1080P monitor for $150. I'll take my chances. Im just not that anal when it comes to PC gear.
