- Grieve - 05-11-2009 We may be headed for a pullback, but I think banks should do well from now on. Now we can be fairly sure they won't fail, and we have a fairly good idea of there potential losses, they are going to be earnings machines. There was a good article this month's Kiplinger's about Wells...let me see if I can find it online...here it is: http://www.kiplinger.com/magazine/archives/2009/06/discovering_value.html They think Wells could well go to $40-50 by the end of the year - not bad. And Whitney Tilson is one of the best fund managers in the business. - Thudz - 05-11-2009 Grieve Wrote:We may be headed for a pullback, but I think banks should do well from now on. I hope you're right since all of my clients are banks but I'm seeing the struggle first hand with alot of these mid to small cap banks. We've lost a couple clients because they can't sustain themselves on their own and are being gobbled up by larger banks that already have cash managements systems in place. I still fear the worst is yet to come and I hope there isn't a bigger bailout in the future. I say this even though my job is directly in the line of fire. - amins - 05-11-2009 Elliott says B2... still along way from the Grand Super Cycle's begining of wave 5, which means, we're still gunna be in the bear market for 3 more waves. GO GO Shorty McShort! - Vanraw - 05-13-2009 Ouch Ouch. Lost like 30k in the last couple days.... - Breand - 05-14-2009 Im patting myself on the back for selling my PIR in RL Monday, it's been down 50% since then. Im almost kinda happy about the pullback, opens things up for new deals out there. - amins - 05-14-2009 Buy: ==== BAC $100k - amins - 05-14-2009 BUY: ==== POT $50k - amins - 05-20-2009 SELL: ==== BAC POT - Grieve - 05-26-2009 Latest numbers posted on first page: Players (as of midday 5-26-09) 1 (1) $197,572 (+98%) Zephyrs 2 (2) $189,691 (+90%) Vanraw 3 (3) $178,616 (+79%) Grizzle (backdated) 4 (6) $161,904 (+62%) Bonestomper 5 (4) $160,324 (+60%) Hoofhurr 6 (7) $157,122 (+57%) amins 7 (8 ) $152,274 (+52%) Thudz 8 (5) $151,575 (+52%) Dustie 9 (9) $145,414 (+45%) Breand 10 (10) $130,750 (+31%) Grieve 11 (11) $129,499 (+29%) Venganza 12 (12) $100,000 (-) Slamz Bone leaps up the table (Hogs, Potash and steel still working out well for him), and was one of the only gainers during the recent correction. Dustie and I got hit particularly hard as the banks pulled back. - Thudz - 05-26-2009 BUY ALL : PPTO - Breand - 05-28-2009 I see some very troubling shit on the horizon. Lets just say Im happy half of my 401k is in PTRAX. Hey Grive can you post that OFX file again, the one I have is dated for me. Re: Stock Market PvP - Grieve - 06-10-2009 Latest scores! Breand burns his way up the table, with a $14k haul since the last update. Maul isn't far behind, and retakes the top stop. Griz, amins and I also have gains. Hoof has the biggest loss, falling down to 8th. Slamz still valiently brings up the rear, ready for the inevitable 2nd market crash (anytime now...) Breand, I'm in India now (training the folks who are taking my job... ), and just snuck in this update between sessions. I'll try to post all the OFX files when I get a chance, but might not be until I get back to the states.
Re: Stock Market PvP - Breand - 06-10-2009 no worries! thx for the update! Im gonna guess most of that 14k is PGH. Re: Stock Market PvP - Breand - 07-02-2009 how bout an update for old times sake =) Re: Stock Market PvP - Zephyrs - 07-02-2009 My AIG is showing worth 600K now... after the split and the stock shooting up... my portfolio is showing over 750K total ... hock: hock: hock:
Re: Stock Market PvP - Grieve - 07-02-2009 Oops, sorry, been helaciously busy recently. Will get an update to this as soon as I can... Re: Stock Market PvP - Zephyrs - 07-02-2009 quick before they correct my stuff from the split! I like having 700K ! Re: Stock Market PvP - amins - 07-03-2009 lol! Re: Stock Market PvP - Vanraw - 07-03-2009 lol yea AIG reverse split horked up Google big time. Re: Stock Market PvP - Vanraw - 07-07-2009 Whats up with Google and AIG. They still haven't fixed it. Re: Stock Market PvP - Grieve - 07-13-2009 Okay, better late than never - here's the latest numbers and rankings, the first since the mini (so far) downturn. It's been a tough few weeks - everyone has lost money. But no-one has lost more money than Thudz (although Zephryz came close), and no-one has limited their losses as well as Dustie (although Maul came close). And talking of Maul, he's king of the hill again, and this time by a big margin - way to go, mate! Nice to see a couple of liberals at the top. ![]() This also means that Slamz is no longer at the bottom on the heap. Who knows, if this downturn continues his strat may work out after all...All these numbers adjust for the AIG 20-1 and FAS 5-1 reverse splits, by the way. Yahoo and Google need to get their arses in gear and fix that. Re: Stock Market PvP - Breand - 07-13-2009 awesome! Do you have my portfolio list handy enough to show here? I never changed the one I keep so I have old investments on it still. Im not sure if google or yahoo will autofix the reverse split thing. I own FAS in real life and I just went in and manually changed it myself. Re: Stock Market PvP - Grieve - 07-13-2009 Yep, the latest portfolios are always updated on the first page when I post here. As soon as I get a chance I'll upload OFX files too. (EDIT: just uploaded yours: http://www.geocities.com/paleblackness/breand.txt Download, rename to breand.ofx, and import into Google finance) Breand Wrote:awesome! Thudz you bastard, you gave slamz a "I told you so" stance!!! Re: Stock Market PvP - Slamz - 07-14-2009 Either the economy recovers and I win IRL or the economy tanks and I win in here. I chose a "can't lose" option. |
