Gaming Hardware - Slamz - 03-19-2012

This is a public area for discussing gaming hardware. I brought over a few old threads I could find to get the ball rolling.

Basically we talk about this stuff periodically and it's handy to be able to find these threads the next time I need to go shopping for upgrades!

Good idea. Did a couple searches. Might want to move the following.

Seems like there were some more recent "I want to build a PC" threads, but could not find them with a simple search.

I am due for and able to buy a new PC, I need two things from it I want Cyberpunk 2077 and (GOD WILLING) Star Citizen to be smooooth and beautiful so I am waiting to buy very high end.

I wouldn't take SC into consideration for the moment. Nothing is particularly optimized, so the game often runs worse on higher end rigs. One of the cool things they do have though, is a matrix that displays primary hardware of SC users, and also what performance is using that software combination: Telemetry
If you look at that, you'll at least know roughly what your experience will be based on those who have the same set up. Things are changing so much though, that it isn't worth upgrading specifically for SC yet. I think within the next year (especially once Squadron 42 is nearing completion), there will be a clearer indication of what would work best.
