#vallonzek on Gamesnet - seretogis - 08-07-2003 I registered #vallonzek on teh Gamesnet, so that all of us burnouts can congregate with the people that play CS / ET / etc. Server List North America: irc.us.gamesnet.net Western USA: west.us.gamesnet.net Eastern USA: east.us.gamesnet.net Europe: irc.eu.gamesnet.net Canada: irc.ca.gamesnet.net IRC clients and "Getting Started" Tutorials mIRC -- Link -- Getting Started Trillian -- Link -- Docs suck :/ ChanServ ChanServ is the channel moderating bot of GamesNet. It ensures that only those with proper access are opped, and that no one can "takeover" the channel or steal it from us. I am currently the owner of the channel, and have set several "masters" who are able to add other ops. To execute commands in the public channel, you can type !command (for instance, !users to see a list of users with access). If you want to send a private command, type /msg chanserv #vallonzek users and it will also giveyou a list of users, though privately. AuthServ Gamesnet uses a service called "authserv" which allows you to "register" yourself with the network, and allow it to recognize you when you connect. This is helpful when setting up "ops" (operator privledges) in the channel, and setting it up so that you are automatically "opped". Below is a great link to find out how to authenticate with AuthServ: http://www.gamesnet.net/authserv.php Having Problems? If you have problems getting either IRC to work, or AuthServ to recognize you, you can contact one of the "masters" in the channel (ser, snafu, or Soppy) or email/icq/aim me. email: garorm@seretogis.org icq: 13704953 aim: seretogis Can't get *anything* to work?
