Intel - Kakarat - 12-16-2009 ~News~ Wow on Intel. If this information and lawsuit goes through, what would it do to Intel and the computers we know today? Re: Intel - Grieve - 12-16-2009 It would mean more of them would be using AMD chips, which makes AMD a buy! Re: Intel - Snowreap - 12-16-2009 to answer your question, it would do basically nothing. Intel has deep pockets, at worst they'll have to cough up a big settlement. -ken Re: Intel - Diggles - 12-16-2009 AMD should be out of business already, but is kept on lifesupport so Intel wont have a true monopoly. Every year AMD falls further behind in manufacturing advances and R&D. I cant really see how you can have much competition in the CPU business since everything created revolves around that CPU. Sharing your hardware & design info on CPU product is deterimental to your success as thats what you paid billions to obtain in the first place. Compatibility between different companies is a nightmare for the end user. I dont see any good solution to this problem. Only thing I can think of is give the fines to a company with completely different technology (ie..optical photon based CPU or some of that crazy crystal)shit) Re: Intel - Vanraw - 12-17-2009 Yea what Snow said. Might be some dips, but this will be like the Microsoft anti trust stuff, which really had very little long term impact. Re: Intel - Hoofhurr - 12-18-2009 I drove by an intel building yesterday. They seem to be doing just fine. |
