Read this and it really hits my philosophy in today's market.

Keeping it Simple:
1. Do not trade individual stocks
2. Focus solely on the stock markets
a. Dow
b. S&P
c. NASDAQ
d. Russell
3. Conduct a simple technical analysis of the markets.
4. If support is tested buy the long ETF with a stop just under support.
5. Sell when a decent profit has been achieved.
6. Go to cash and do it again.
