We searched for non ethanol and there was like 1 place in houston. Will probably have to go the additives route. Thanks again for bringing it up.. I had no idea

as a side note to fuel, ethanol, manufactures recommendations, etal. if you use 2 stroke oil in things like weed eaters, ect; use the brand of oil that matches the piece of equipment. lawn boy/lawn boy, stihl/stihl

second, read the label on the oil, most require at least medium grade gas if not premium. if you run the cheapest gas, your 2 stroke will not run correctly.

So evidently finding non-ethanol fuel is virtually impossible, so we got some treatment stuff for the gas that's supposed to make it last longer and will fill the tank up to full after use to help alleviate the issues with dew.

And I ended up buying a truck to pull the boat Smile

I shall preface by saying that I don't own a boat so really know nothing about it apart from what I have heard/read but based on a story I read some time ago in regard to this issue, I believe marinas sell gas without Ethanol. (I read a story years ago about a marina whose tanks were accidentally refilled with normal gas with ethanol as opposed to marine gas without - caused millions of dollars of damage to the boats of folks who used the marina)

Its usually more expensive. Marina gas falls under the "if its used on a boat its more expensive" rule.

Ethanol did screw over a lot of boaters. It also screwed various fuel storage facilities. Ethanol has easily caused a few million gallons of fuel to hit water tables across the US because it ate through various pieces of equipment.

Supposedly the US is talking about going to E15 in the not so distant future(some places like Australia are already there). That's going to really screw boaters.

I've searched for 100% gas(E0) and there is exactly one place less than an hour away(51 miles), and pulling a boat 51 miles away(100+ miles round trip) is just silly. I've searched for Marinas to get E0 gas, but they just either aren't around here, or aren't publicised at all.

The funny thing is(not to get too political), the gov't is pushing for high mileage cars and pushing for low quality gas. You get better gas mileage with E0 gasoline than E10... it's only going to get worse.

my boat won't go NEARLY that fast. They were lucky he had his kill switch on(either that or that his engine overheated and stopped running)

Nah dude, Lake Houston. I live 10 minutes away from it. I'll probably take it to Conroe and Livingston some, but mostly will be on Lake Houston.

My dad usually does it outside in the propane fryer.

But the way he cleans them, most of the fishy smell is gone so it wouldn't be a big deal to fry them inside.

That's hilarious Bone because he actually does have one of those and did use it this weekend! I had never seen it before but I went out while he was frying and that is what he was using. Thing worked like a champ too!
