Problem there is you might literally be his only Kindle customer.
Maybe you could buy a small ad asking Kindle owners to email the paper about releasing a Kindle format, to see if enough subscribers are out there who are interested.
They are infectious, though. I bought one and someone I primarily know from the bar saw it, talked about it for a while and promptly demanded one from her husband as her birthday gift, which she now has. Dustie has been getting tempted, too.
And actually I'm glad I have this one and not the new big Kindle. That one would be cool too, and probably better for reading web pages, newspapers and (if they put them on a kindle) manga and comics but the regular Kindle is a very handy and portable size. The bigger one would be awkward to read while you're sitting there eating lunch, for example.
Also nice that all you need to turn the pages is one clean pinky finger. Very handy if you're trying to read while eating a big messy cheeseburger.
