You can back up your kindle library and read it on pretty much any device out there. Format doesn't really matter unless you wanna read a barnes and noble book on kindle (and even that could be managed if you got creative). Its all about the medium you want to use to read.

I do on my blackberry sometimes too with the kindle program there when I dont have my kindle with me.
