Been a while since i've seen a thread derailed so well to a totally unrelated topic.
Btw Zirak, I saw that show you were talking about - for the taste test, they shipped the BBQ to California for their opinion and reheated.... thus proving 2 things:
1) they broke cardinal rule #1 - they reheated. Reheated food tastes nothing like freshly cooked bbq
2) Californians have no taste
If you want real BBQ, come to Houston during the BBQ cook off (at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo) - its world class. One of my dad's employees took 3rd place in the brisket category last year - he cooked one for my dad once... best BBQ ever (especially coupled with an awesome sauce).
