They are very quickly catching up with the books, that fucker better start churning out some content.

Or they can just let the showrunners advance the plot, that way we might actually see a conclusion in this lifetime. They know how it is supposed to end.

Friend of mine and I were talking about this. We both agreed that HBO could let him film the final books and viewership would continue if not rise. Book sales might not change since people who read books, have made it this far, and are fans are probably going to buy anyway.
