but I doubt he will be as popular as Oberyn's character, who was amusing - and according to the mrs - kind of attractive.

You've basically hit on why there is such an uproar over him. The ladies love Mr. Pascal. He is supposedly getting down with Lena Headley too.

I never thought Oberyn would be much of a character either but it turns out he was. I guess it depends how good the actor is and how much of a role they give him on TV. Their are a few more Oberyn types coming that could irk viewers.

I figured this would happen sooner or later. We debated earlier in this thread who is a major character and who isn't. Who turns out to be major when you cut from scene to scene can be anyone who steals the scenes. That doesn't bode well for the series.
