HBO - Game of Thrones SPOILERS INSIDE. you have been warned
I think I'm at a stage now where I feel like they need to slow the hell down with the show. I am frankly getting upset that they are now spoiling events in the books that have not happened yet. The Stannis event that happened last night is NOT in the books yet, and if you watch the "Inside the Episode" for this one, Benioff says in it that George told them it happens. So that's something that happens in Winds of Winter we don't know about yet. Some books fanatics are even considering starting a campaign to spoil the finale for people since Benioff and Weiss are now spoiling material for the book lovers.

I know George is entirely to blame, the pause between Feast and Dance was ridiculous considering he supposedly wrote both at the same time, and now its been 4 years since Dance was released. But it may be time to respect the gift the George has given HBO and Benioff/Weiss. If you consider The Sopranos, the last 3 seasons had huge gaps in production. Basically 18 months between some of the later seasons and a full 2 years for the final season. I think they need to consider doing that with Thrones. Or they break up the seasons into 5 episodes to slow it the hell down. People will be pissed for sure, but I think George deserves to finish the books on his terms. It is looking more and more likely that Winds of Winter will be out before the next season starts. If they wait 18 months on the next season, and hope that they have enough from WoW to cover it, then wait another 18 months for the final season, that gives George close to 2 1/2 years to finish A Dream of Spring. It's not impossible. If he doesn't get it done, then screw him, they gave him a chance. But I think he does deserve some more time.
