HBO isn't waiting so book readers better get used to the fact that the show is going to be out before the books. I suggest they start distancing themselves from the show if they want to avoid spoilers. Let's be honest, is ANYONE surprised by this? If Martin was your typical writer he would have finished the story in 2000.
Plus what do you think is going to happen to just show watchers if his next book comes out before next season? Their will be spoilers for them.
Quite frankly I am surprised Benioff and Weiss have stuck to the books as much as they have. I would have fixed Martin's failures not continued to expose them.
