Jakensama Wrote:
Part of the prophecy was "When the red star bleeds and the darkness gathers, Azor Ahai shall be born again."

You are taking a rather liberal use of being born again to mean resurrected. Also those words were from the red bitch from Jon's POV which Martin clearly states is twisted towards the POV of the character when the narrative is told. The only cannon from Martin himself is,
There will come a day after a long summer when the stars bleed and the cold breath of darkness falls heavy on the world. In this dread hour a warrior shall draw from the fire a burning sword. And that sword shall be Lightbringer, the Red Sword of Heroes, and he who clasps it shall be Azor Ahai come again, and the darkness shall flee before him
This was read I believe by Tarley reading one of the old books from Asshai that were in Old Town?
I never once took that Azor was someone who is resurrected, he is someone who had some kind of quest dealing with a sword. In order to be Azor you have to be able to wield Lightbringer. If you can't wield the sword of pure fire you aren't Azor. That is really the only requirement. Stannis and the Red Bitch faked that part which is why we have always known Stannis is not Azor and the Red Bitch is a liar.
This is why I guess you and I never agreed on Jon's death. I don't in anyway connect ressurection and Azor since the prophecy is specifically about the ability to wield a paticular sword. I still don't think that any kind of ressurection makes him Azor. That is why I thought the attack on Jon was likely his death and you thought his death was just another step in the story.
