[spoiler]Theres a seperate prophecy about the prince who was promised, which I think I got mistaken - but I think they are the same person and she tends to use both language. We'll see, I think its too convenient that she is right there when he dies, she was seeing him in the fire in her POV, and she's likely going to burn Shireen to do something in the upcoming book. If he kills this major a character just because, it will be pretty poor narrative. Ned was okay because it was only the first book, and Robb was never a major character..
Also the prophecy says something about blood of dragons, which I guess could technically be Stannis since they have some small amount of Targaryen blood in them (like every Noble house), but would make much more sense for Jon who is the child of a true blooded Targaryen.[/spoiler]
