They put the Sir what's his name guy in the riverlands who was being hunted by the Mountain in the series. He wasn't significant AND they deviated the red priestess to see him contrary to the books. Maester Ameon (sp?) words to Jon "lose the boy". The visuals at the end. Signs are too many to be a red herring. The red herring was for the priestess to be with Stannis but that's been cleared up.

Now whether he is the chosen one, i dont know.
