In conclusion, Maull sucks.

First, political debate is all about voicing opinions and your welcomed. Second Maul does suck Big Grin

For me I a little wierd politically. Fiscal conservative, social liberal with a strong libertarian bend. I vote Democrat but wish I could vote Republican but they discust me to much to vote for them. There are a select few I would vote for but not until the Republican majority is removed.

This issue is not about fixing the problem unforunately. Its scoring political points and hopefully motivating people to make this a single issue vote. Republicans will talk the big game but they won't produce the results. Who isn't for more border security? I don't know anyone who isn't. But its like who doesn't want tax cuts? As long as it doesn't effect anything they care about. Who doesn't want to lock up criminals longer?

Then ask them that if there willing to pay more taxes or face cuts to there all important entitlement program to make these ideas happen and you get a resounding NO.

This is about controlling the debate like I said before. Republicans are trying to change the conversation the nation is having to subjects they are stronger in. A real solution is secondary. I don't think it will work like it has is the past. Iraq is out there and unless something drastically changes, which I can't see, it will still be bad. The economy as much as they trumpet it isn't very good for John Q. Citizen. GDP isn't a measure people use for the economy. They look at the balance in the check book at the end of the month and there 401k and make the call on the economy based on those factors. Nobody sits around the kitchen table and says, "Honey GDP was up 3 1/2% again last quarter, lets buy a new car". In the last 25 years we have had 17 years of Republican Presidents and not one budget they have purposed has ever been balanced. I think people are finally starting to burnout on the blame and excuses. Until I see a Republican President balance one budget they will have a very tough time ever getting my vote again. They are a great minority party to block the Democrats from going hog wild, but they have demonstrated quite clearly they spend money just as fast as Democrats but the big difference is they wrack up massive deficits in the process.
