(One of) the biggest problems in that thought process is figuring out which types of Crypto stand even a remote chance of surviving regulation. I good chunk of these NFT type operations where its not much more than a digital ponzi scheme built around hype are probably doomed. The ones that are set up for more nefarious/money laundering type situations are also likely doomed. It will take something like Musk merging Doge into Twitter or EA taking the veil off in game currency and replacing it with Bitcoin, or whatever to give it enough legitimacy and enough direction to regulators on even how to try and regulate it.
It will be chicken or egg. How do you regulate to point there can be confidence when so many digital currencies are created out of thin air. The resulting regulations necessary will either be ineffectual on one side or completely overreaching on the other.
I think this is part of the attraction because if you do guess right, the returns could be enormous. But it will litterally be throwing money on 28 Black and hoping for the best -- I'm not sure how you can 'invest smartly' at this point.
Smart investing requires some level of calculation on risk vs return; there is no way to understand either side of that currently; at least not to an extent you can compare it to 'real' investing vs. side hobby for giggles or another form of gambling for entertainment.
