Yep. I've been tooting the AI horn for a bit now. 2025 AI was really capable but 2026 AI really is on another level and I don't think many people realize how far it has come. My web game was derpy (and ultimately I need a better vision of what I actually want and how the gameplay design should get us there) but I proved the main point I wanted to prove, which was that I can make a functional multiplayer web game and I don't need to know anything about web development. All that code is baked in now. We just need the ideas.
All those times we played games and wished we could just mod them to do something a bit different here and there, all very achievable now. Frankly even if the game isn't designed to be moddable and is all binaries, I'm willing to bet Fable-level AI can figure out how to mod it anyway. If you actually have the source code then the game is yours to do with as you please.
It's still something for a hobbyist, really. You do need time for playtesting (less looking for bugs, though, and more "is this fun?"), and some real time put into things like UX/UI layouts and general game design, but the actual coding is solved.
