I was going to post this on the official server...
#1
... as my alt, "Foerunner", but the login server was down. Again.

Some initial impressions --

* Server performance.

Crushridge has issues, but nothing like Bleeding Hollow. I've seen vendor lag, crafting lag and some kind of strange lag involving my Drain Soul spell (I just keep draining long after the target is dead) but I haven't noticed any combat lag. My instants are instant. Meanwhile, I log into BH and the mailbox has vanished and it takes 15 minutes to logout after hitting "logout". So CR isn't perfect, but it's a lot better than BH.

* PvP

The Alliance is completely out of control and needs to be beaten severely about the head. I hear PvP is thin in the high end zones, but that's likely just a testament to the age of this server -- most of the people in Ungoro right now probably came from Bleeding Hollow. Mid level zones are crawling with those vermin gnomes and filthy night elves, though. I couldn't swing a stick in STV yesterday without hitting an Alliance member.

I think it's a tribute to the smaller community that the Alliance seems to stick together better on this server. On BH, it wasn't unusual at all to attack one Alliance and have 3 others ride on by and ignore the fight. On CR it seems they can run for help and get it. I guess the benefit of the small community is that names are easier to recognize so people feel better about helping each other. Good on you.

The Horde feels to be greatly outnumbered and the Alliance are quite vicious. I was grouped with some Tauren last night in STV who got corpsecamped for literally half an hour, he was just some CR native as far as I know. Wasn't anything I could do to help him, due to the number of Alliance camping him. I would like to go on the record as saying this level of viciousness is commendable, I'm just commenting on the differences: on BH, the Alliance never cared enough about PvP to actually corpsecamp anyone. They were kind of lazy and wimpy in that regard.

It was hard to level in STV on Bleeding Hollow because of all the level 60 Alliance gankers. It's hard to level in STV on Crushridge because of all the same-level Alliance who happen to hang out in groups of 3-5, sometimes within shouting distance of another group of 3-5. Like I told my guild, BH felt like it was 30 vs 28 in favor of the Alliance. We held the Alliance in check enough that you could quest in STV as a level 35 Horde. CR is smaller, but it feels more like ... 10 vs 2. Smaller numbers, but I feel more outnumbered. I couldn't do crap in STV without engaging in battle with the Alliance every 2 minutes.

This is my kinda place. If last night is any indication, and I was a member of the native Horde on this server, I'd be damn happy to see more Horde show up. I hope our allied guild from Bleeding Hollow, Big Bad Baddies, decides to make the move. The beacon fires of Crushridge have been lit, will the riders of Baddies answer the call?

* Economy

In light of the PvP, who cares about economy? There's elves, sir, billions of em!
