I didn't think this thread was the place to go into the details of *why* a bank with lots of cash is unwilling to loan any of it out. for the purposes of this thread, saying that the credit crunch is caused by unwillingness rather than unavailability is enough. the *cause* of that unwillingness is already known to (or suspected by) those who care, and those who don't care aren't interesting in hearing about it.
