Problem there is you might literally be his only Kindle customer.

Yea that is the issue, but it also displays how these old business types are unwilling to compete. It reminds me of the car industry. They are unwilling to see opportunity when it knocks.

So for instance, my yearly 7 day a week subscription for the paper version is about $260 a year. A Kindle 2 cost $359. So they should use this as a revenue opportunity.

First buy some kindle2's in bulk. So lets say the price lowers to $300. Offer to sell the unit for $350 with a gazzetr subscription of $12 a month with a 2 year contract. Then reach out to customer and sell kindle specific advertising to make more revenue.

So you make $50 on the unit plus $288 for 2 years plus advertising dollars, and ongoing subscription cost after the 2 years.

$338 plus advertising net, with zero cost of printing and paper.

This is why so many of our industries in America are failing. They refuse to think about the changing climate even when it hits them in the face like a dead godfather fish!
