I was getting a slow-down when looking at a forest during heavy fighting. I turned some stuff down and the problem went away. I turned off the radial stuff (which I never really like anyway) and I forget what else. Nothing dramatic.
I sucked it up and got a GTX480 on the way home because I am a crazy person. (It came with a cool overclocking application that froze up my computer in the first 2 seconds...I am no longer overclocking it.) Now everything is full blast and it's smooth as can be.
The overclocking application also displays GPU % usage, temperature and fan speed, which is handy.
The card is a monster, by the way. I don't think my previous case would have fit it. It barely fit the 9800 and this card must be at least 2 inches longer.
It's frankly excessive for this game but meh. I bought the 9800 when it was new, which must have been about 2 years ago, so I figured it was time.
