That was a fun week. Power out from Monday at 6AM until Friday at round 7PM.
Beryl was pretty bad for our area, one of the worst we've dealt with in a while when it comes to wind damage... but not much flooding. Weird how you can get multiple hurricanes/tropical storms etc, and they are completely different in how they damage the area.
We were good though, I had a generator that runs my whole house so other than having to head out into the world to find gas for the generator, we were good. Had AC and internet the entire time.

Somehow I missed this... Yeah, just crossing my fingers that we don't get a third nonsense storm this season.
I'm in the heights but fortunately not many trees. I did buy a generac when I moved back because I remember how miserable it was with no power here.

Ultimately at this point, if you don't have some sort of generator(even if just enough to keep fans running/fridges powered up), you're just negligent(or poor).
I live in a pretty decent neighborhood in Humble(avg houses over 400k) and people complain on social media about having to replace the food in their fridge... meanwhile they have 100k cars in the driveway.

I learned my lesson long ago, I grew up in Kingwood and my folks were there during one of the old storms. They got their power back right away and then some construction people knocked down a line and they were at the back of the line and no power for like a week in July - screw that noise.
Also, go Stros. Division champs yet again.

Yep! Kingwood has taken it up the ass on multiple occasions. Just the cost of living here, you need some way to get power outside of Centerpoint.
Hell yea! Not real confident on the 'Stros, but we'll see. Wouldn't be surprised if we lost in the wild card, or won the WS at this point. Such a feast or famine team.
