Hello,

I'm Ghosty. Been gaming since I figured out you could do more than slobber on a controller/keyboard. First games having been Civ2, AoE 1+2 on PC, Command & Conquer: Red Alert on PS1 and OG C&C on N64, all around the age of 2-4. First heard of The Purge from Wolfe, who has also been urging me to apply for quite some time now, having met him, Kiefer, Eden, and Blackmore from BMM on PotBS.

Played WoW fairly hardcore for about 10 years. Excelling in both PvE and PvP, playing at the end of Vanilla, finally losing my interest and drive to continue shortly after the release of Warlords of Draenor. I've played every expansion since, but been unable to maintain interest and quitting after a month or two. I've played Planetside 2, SWTOR, ArcheAge + AAUnchained, Rift, D&D Online, Black Desert Online(6425 hrs on steam), FFXIV, and several others. Currently playing Eve Online. Casually testing Star Citizen from time to time as well. Patiently waiting for that release since it was announced back in 2012. 400+ games in steam Library, 100+ from Epic/Origin/Etc. I am very active online, always happy to help out friends, or clan/guild/society mates.

Will be playing New World on release, interested in joining The Purge to kick off that adventure.
I have no issues with TS, and using PTT, and I have read that whole post you said applicants should read.

Hello,

I am seeking admittance into your guild characters applying are Tânan 58 Hunter and Tananmage 21 Mage. I have read the expectations of recruits and members. PvE/PvP is my ultimate goal. I am married with two step kids. Work a full time job with the FAA (Technical Operations) at the Chicago ARTCC.

I happened to see Mistahapie in Barrens earlier today and I asked if he was the same one from Vallon Zek. He mentioned a bunch of VZ refugees had made their way here and I was interested in joining immediately. I played Everquest from late 2000 until Everquest 2 came out in 2004 as Tananthalas (Ranger). I was in Goliath Lang (a member of HECK alliance) for a long time. When I came back from a deployment I found a huge rift had occurred within the alliance and I was recruited into Zephyros. I was made an officer in there and we ended up doing pretty well until the Zek servers merged and WoW came out and all that. For those who recognize the guild names I am using but not necessarily me I was active duty in the Air Force at the time and the events of September 11th and deployments kept me very busy.

It wasn't until the Planes of Power expansion that I finally hit max level (which released in Oct 2002). I remember fighting with (or against depending on the time frame) some of you. Holding Cobalt Scar so various guilds could raid Zlandicar or ToV depending where each guild was in progression and capability. Some of my best memories were getting ganked at the port of CS when I had the gold on me for the Lodizal Shield, farming VT shards in Shadows of Luclin (mmm that drop rate was nice on those), and of course the loot pinata that was the Plane of Time. Since those days I kept myself in many MMOs. EQ2, CoH, FFXI, WoW, FFXIV, and Rift were the ones I played the most. All under the name Tananthalas or Tanan.

I don't want to make this super long but i hope to see you all in game. I told Mistahapie earlier I am excited as hell to see people from the old days so if nothing else I am thrilled you guys are here on Benediction.

A few of you in the company may recognize me from the Blacktide company on the island we are all on. I am looking to join a company that is active and works together for the common good of the company. I will be honest in that I was kicked from Blacktide due to Wilder feeling insecure in his inability to lead the company. He thought I was trying to take control which couldn't be further from the truth. I am a Marine and am used to organization in any unit and was always trying to help make things more efficient for the company since we only had 2 active members.

What I bring to the table is a good understanding of the game's mechanics and strategies so far(Level 52). I was the main reason for Wilder finally getting around to creating an alliance on the I9 grid, though I doubt he will ever admit that, the rest of his members can vouch for that. If it were up to him, he would solo sail all day with his gf and to hell with the rest of the company and alliance. But, everyday he logged in, I was adamant in reminding him that we needed to get alliance ties going in the grid.

Why do I want to join Purge? Because you guys seem active, organized and that I9 location is a good one to have strategically.

If you decide to not add me I can understand and respect that. I would only say that I wish the company the best.

Lastly, I would not rely on Blacktide for much going forward as they only have 2 active members, their main tamer and only person making sure base defenses were operational everyday. And since Wilder cant seem to recruit anyone, they are probably going to collapse easily if they get raided again. Not to mention they recently made a dangerous ally last night that I'm sure many on the island are not going to be happy about in the future.

I shall try my best to not use numbers instead of letters, I did read your new applicants read this thread and I am not as big an asshat as Diggles. Unfortunately I am not big on micro brews but I totally am fine with people having sex that's illegal in seven states even if it gets us killed in pvp. (If you don't understand why I am saying this reread your new applicants post).

At the recommendation of Crice I would love to join The Purge!
Currently playing Conan Exiles and loving it.
I'm old (ancient in gaming years) and have a family and spend my free time coaching so my gaming happens later in the evenings or sometimes during the day when work is slow.
Would love to join a group of like-minded folks who support each other and make the games more enjoyable.
I'm probably not as talented a gamer as Crice, but I am way less grumpy most of the time.

I would like to join The Purge, mostly so I can help the juggernaut that is our clan run smoothly and uncontested in future endeavors. I love being a helper, my main desire is trading to build both my and the clans stores of wealth, and also transporting equipment to the front lines to be used by others. While trade is what I do 90% of the time, I'm also working on increasing my rank, currently capped at 250, so that way I can help more efficiently.

Yes, I know that if I like trading, I should go to a clan that is more peaceful, but that is not what I want. I would like to help a clan that get things done for the good of France, even if it means sacrificing trade on the more dangerous routes.

I'm looking to leave my old clan ICS because I've recently learned that they do not care about France, but themselves, leaving their own countrymen to fight hard battles on their own, all the while thinking they are in the right.

My current ratio of ships are currently 8:1, trade to combat. I can't pretend that I'm good at PvP, but I love working for a good team, and am eager to learn and get better, becoming a more useful asset to the clan and those who I will eventually call my friends.

Hello all, thank you for considering my application.

First, I have been a long time gamer starting with Wizardry 1 on my 8088 PC computer back in I think about 1988-89? I am 39 years old.

Online game titles of note that I have played over the years include:
Allegiance - PVP
Jumpgate - PVP - Led a significant squadron and was actually one of a few key players in the faction I was with (back when I had lots of time and little real life)
Neocron - PVP
Eve - PVP
Star Wars Galaxies
Final Fantasy 11 & 14
Naval Action - PVP

Wing Commander
Skyrim
Final Fantasy series
Pirates
etc etc

What brought me to Naval Action was my love of Sid Meiers Pirates and then also because I have been reading through the Aubrey / Maturin series of books by Patrick O Brien. Plus the movies on Steam were just beautiful. I have great hopes that as Naval Action nears actual release that it will become much more polished and deep.

As far as personality is concerned, I would have to say I am mostly laid back. Teamspeak-wise I suppose I probably ask way too many questions early on, but as I learn whatever game I am playing I tend to end up being very reserved and mostly just follow orders, though when I feel I have become an expert in any given game I can fulfill a leadership role and call battles etc (In Jumpgate I was probably the #1 target in 50+ ship battles way back in the day and usually just called targets and strategy while dodging, running, and drawing fire)

I seem to bump into people I have known in previous games from time to time as well. I have few people whom I can't get along with, even when we were bitter enemies in games in the past.

Last, I will never be able to devote too much of my life to games anymore.
I am a business owner
I have 2 daughters whom I see Mon. Wed. and then some weekends
I am divorced
I have a girlfriend
In nice weather months I try to get outside a lot
I used to have a deskjob where I would check forums all the time, but now I would say I am NOT a huge forum person.

All of this being said, I do still like to pop on to whatever game I am playing daily, if only for a short time.

I guess that is it - sorry for the rambling with no organization whatsoever.

Greetings all,

I am Edward Salter, also Charles Eden of PotBS, and Hootuk Myrum before that. I have only ever played two MMO's: PotBS and Naval Action. I do it for the genre. In PotBS, I was originally an independent on Blackbeard server, mainly drawn to the game by the player driven econ. I instantly fell in love with crafting. I loved logging into the game to see the bright green text welcoming me back with the notification of Auction House sales.

Since my early days in PotBS, I have steadily grown in the game, from young pvp experiences that amounted to nothing more than seal clubbing to 9 speed mod Minerva 6group gank squads, to proficient rage boarder, to skilled 1v1 shipcom, to integral part of heavy 6 group line fight. I have loved the progression over the years (I am a 2008 vet). When my society gave up the game, I would not. I was with West Indies Squadron, and I was drawn to their maturity and role play. We started on Blackbeard, moved to Roberts server merge, and voluntarily moved to Antigua after PB time slots no longer matched our play style. During that time, we absorbed another soc who was more pvp centric and cared not at all for econ and more sophisticated game play that took into account the bigger picture. They wanted nonstop group fights (which there's nothing wrong with, per se, but it came at a significant strain to those protecting strategic ports when it wasn't the "cool" thing to do). So a more purist group of us split off to form Leeward Island Squadron. Some founding members of WIS and I stuck with that until 2013 or 2014 or so and then I was the last man remaining.

Throughout my years I had some dealings with Keifer Cain and Keith Bain. He wound up recruiting me to British Mercantile and Mercenary, a clan I stuck with until a resurgence in SGS brought us back to them. With Keifer back in SGS, it was not a difficult move for me either. In fact, when I first moved to Antigua, I did so independently and actually filed an application with SGS waaaay back when. They had the old one and reinstating me was not an issue. Once there, much fun was had with Ruding, Bach, and Cain/Bain. I grew to love being apart of a society with such prestige, such standing. It was reminiscent of when I played for WIS in the early Blackbeard days.

Once Naval Action came out, I instantly joined. I quickly discovered that it was everything that myself and many of my old soc mates from WIS wished PotBS could become. The old crew joined up and things were lovely. But in my extended absence, the group dynamics changed. Things weren't as they once were. No hard feelings with any of those quality players, but I feel that I am more aligned with the strategic goals of Purge's mission in the Lesser Antilles against the flagrant pirate influx.

I have plans to be a heavy econ player as well as open sea pvper, and I took place in my first PB at Pedernales last night--a wonderful joy, despite my sinking.
